BRIEF HISTORY
Established in 1976 the Henderson Group commenced trading as a small wholesale /retail business specialising in watches , clocks and Jewellery . Initially buying from UK importers .The Henderson family soon realised that there was huge potential to import watches from the Far East and launched its own CITRON INTERNATIONAL range of watches in 1978.This has been followed by a further 14 Henderson own brands and many licensed products
The company quickly built up an unrivalled reputation for supplying the highest quality product at the lowest possible prices backed up by unbeatable service
In 1980 the Directors decided business was growing so quickly it was worth exhibiting at all major UK trade exhibitions which not only resulted in a quick expansion of the UK business but also facilitated extension into the export market. It also moved into larger premises in the heart of the Manchester wholesale area.
By the early 1990s after continued growth both in UK and export business the company was strong enough to open its own manufacturing facilities in the Far East and was exhibiting not only at UK trade fairs but Switzerland, Hong Kong, Germany, Spain and Scandinavia.
In 1996 after more solid growth the company once again outgrew its premises and moved into an 18000 sq ft building in the Worsley area of Manchester.
Having become established as one of Europe’s premier watch importers in 2001 the Henderson group moved into the purpose built 30,000 sq ft distribution centre in Westhoughton it still operates from today. This was quickly followed by the launch of its Thomas Calvi range of accessories which by complimenting the watch ranges carried by the company has grown considerably over the last 2 decades.
THE COMPANY TODAY
The Henderson group now exports watches and accessories throughout the world and with its own in house design team has built up an unrivalled reputation for quality, design, value and service.
Its customers range from the largest national chains to small independent stores but every single Henderson customer receives the same degree of high quality no nonsense service. Once a company becomes a Henderson customer they become a partner for life.
With a national sales force, agents throughout the world and net assets well in excess of £2million the company is in an excellent position to build on the success it has enjoyed in recent years.
Customers are supplied product under the many Henderson own brands or own label product all manufactured to the highest standard at the best possible price.
Since the company was formed in 1976 it has supplied well over 100 million watches to its customers and Managing Director Jim Henderson, the only remaining family member running the business , is committed to ensuring customers and suppliers are given the highest possible levels of quality and value.
